Back-to-back to the general meeting, the university of Parma, partner in the InDIRECT project, organized an open stakeholders meeting. The aim was (1) to present the objectives of the InDIRECT project and (2) to exchange needs/activities of stakeholders in Italy and in the InDIRECT consortium. The workshop was attended by 25 people.

Sixth general consortium meeting

Nutrition Sciences hosts the sixth general meeting of the InDIRECT consortium. Main activities in the project are currently focusing on pilot scale fractionation for insect larvae (grown on side-streams) to generate fractions for feed applications (animal trials) and chemical applications.

Vito is fractionating 200 kg black solider fly larvae that were produced by Millibeter (now circularorganics) using side-stream mixtures.

 

 

Fifth General InDirect consortium meeting

The InDIRECT partners met in Amiens for the fifth time and visited the IMPROVE facilities. The consortium witnessed the presing of sugarbeet leaves that are studied in the InDIRECT project to obtain protein enriched fraction.

InDIRECT results were presented at the INSECTA conference in Potsdam (9/2019) via multiple oral & poster presentation.  The InDIRECT poster of Lise Soetemans on ‘Impact of side-stream based feed on the composition of the lesser mealworm larvae’ received a young scientist award.
